Toltec
“The Four Agreements” by Don Miguel Ruiz

This is an absolutely wonderful book. It’s a little slice of Toltec wisdom. It could as easily been on my spiritual books page, but the concepts are so simple that it makes it so obvious how much better your life could be if you would implement them.

Nothing is as simple as it appears, however, and although they are principals every human being should embrace, it takes some work to do.

I can’t say that I agree with every single word, but it’s a book that is such a nice simple read that you can easily take what works for you and leave what doesn’t. Required reading anyone truly interested in bettering themselves.

“The Prophet” by Kahlil Gibran

I can’t say how much I have always loved this book. If you have never read it or heard of it, above all others, this is the one you should get to have and save. It’s wisdom is boundless.

From Amazon:
“One of the most beloved classics of our time—a collection of poetic essays that are philosophical, spiritual, and, above all, inspirational. Published in 1923, Gibran’s masterpiece has been translated into more than twenty languages.

Gibran’s musings are divided into twenty-eight chapters covering such sprawling topics as love, marriage, children, giving, eating and drinking, work, joy and sorrow, housing, clothes, buying and selling, crime and punishment, laws, freedom, reason and passion, pain, self-knowledge, teaching, friendship, talking, time, good and evil, prayer, pleasure, beauty, religion, and death.”
