ASTROLOGY

“We are born at a given moment, in a given place and, like vintage years of wine, we have the qualities of the year and of the season of which we are born. Astrology does not lay claim to anything more. ”
~Carl Gustav Jung

Astrology is the science of interpreting such things as personality and events in a person’s life through the exact placement of the stars and planets at the time of their birth.

The basic elements of astrology are the planets, the signs and the 12 houses. The placement of those elements at the precise time of one’s birth, based upon where they were born is what makes up an astrological chart.

Most people are familiar with just their sun sign, or the placement of the sun in the month they were born. However, sun signs are only one part of the analysis of how the planets and signs affect our personalities. The placement of each planet in each specific house also influences our personalities, actions, behaviors and events in our lives.

Within astrology there are different methodologies in how experienced astrologers interpret these charts. Just like any form of divination, the interpretation plays a large role in the act of having an astrology reading. But also as in any form of divination, there are basics that those interpretations are based on. And there are different types of charts for different types of readings.

Within that are the signs and houses where the planets reside at the time of your birth. Only experienced astrologers are fully capable of understanding charts to their full extent, but it doesn’t prevent the novice from having the basic understanding of these signs and houses.
